Nissan Concept Vehicles

The Nissan Hi-Cross concept made its debut at the L.a. Auto Show. The Hi-Cross concept is a 7 seater hybrid crossover. The hybrid drive train is a 2.0L direct injection engine mated to a Nissan developed compact lithium-ion battery. The system is for front-wheel drive models but has been modified for four-wheel drive. The concept uses Nissan's next generation XTRONIC CVT. The Hi-Cross concept does hint at what the next generation Nissan Rogue will look like.

The Extreme is Nissan's new concept vehicle. The JUKE definitely comes to mind when looking at the Extrem concept. The Extreme is about 11 inches shorter than the JUKE. Just like the JUKE, it uses the same 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and front/AWD wheel drive platform. The Nissan Extrem was designed specifically for Brazil. The concept will not make it to production, but it shows which design elements Nissan plans to use in the future. Some of these design cues could even be used for the next generation JUKE.

What are your thoughts on these two concept vehicles?
